On top of a hill white with ice and snow, against a stormy grey sky with rain or sleet falling steadily, a lone, bare maple tree stands with a wooden bench under it.

Winter's Chill

This is the kind of day to stay inside and drink something hot while you look out the window at the winter landscape. If that sleet and black ice don't make the indoors more inviting, I don't know what does!

Clear Autumn Day

On top of a hill covered with tall golden grass, against a clear blue sky, a solitary orange maple stands with a wooden bench under it to stop and rest on.

Clear Autumn Day

This is what you get when you lie on the bench watching the “Clouds Go Sailing By”, instead of mowing the grass!

Winter's Chill

On top of a hill covered with green grass and colorful primroses, against a blue sky with wisps of cloud, a solitary red Japanese maple stands with a wooden bench under it to stop and rest on. A lone eagle soars by on the wind.

Clouds Go Sailing By

One of my earlist landscapes made in Vue. I originally made this picture for Mother's Day. It's the kind of solitary, quiet place I would love to relax. This has sometimes been mistaken for a fall picture in spite of the flowers and green grass, but it's supposed to be a Japanese maple, which has red or burgundy leaves in the spring.

I made three seasonal variations of this scene,
Clear Autumn Day
Winter's Chill

A digital underwater illustration showing rays of sunlight streaming down through blue-green water full of bubbles. Hidden in the lavender-green weeds on the ocean floor is a single pearl - a solitary treasure of the sea.

Jewel of the Sea

Light rays are one of those things that appear rarely in nature but frequently in art. But I guess in a sense that's what art is - a selective view of nature. And the rays do add some nice depth to a lot of scenes.

This image was made almost entirely in Paint Shop Pro, but I thought a subtle fractal background made the water more interesting.

A dark, still pond surrounded by leafless trees. On a rock in the middle of the water, a single, glowing, blue rose. 'The blue rose means mystery. An appreciation for the enigmatic, the inexplicable is expressed by the blue rose. A tantalizing vision that cannot be totally pinned down, a mystery that cannot be fully unraveled is the blue rose.' 'Due to the absence in nature of blue roses they traditionally signify a mystery, or attaining the impossible, or never ending quest for the impossible. They are believed to be able to grant the owner youth or grant wishes.'

Blue Rose

“The blue rose means mystery. An appreciation for the enigmatic, the inexplicable is expressed by the blue rose. A tantalizing vision that cannot be totally pinned down, a mystery that cannot be fully unraveled is the blue rose. A person who receives the blue rose is the subject of much speculation and thought. A complex personality that does not allow easy interpretation is what the blue rose indicates.”

This was my first “professional” image created with Vue software. I had tried out the beginner versions of the software (with all the limitations such as size and watermarks that come with that type of software) and decided I wanted to invest in learning this program and making extensive use of it in my future artwork.
